I did it. Two weeks without the use of my laptop. Today, I got my now disease-free laptop back from ITS. They did a wonderful job and I'm eternally grateful. Actually, it only took them 3 days to fix my computer. The reason it took me so long to get my laptop to them was that I had to find and order an external hard drive to back up my files in case my computer crashed.
After countless trips to the library and computer lab, I can now check my email and do my homework in the comfort of my own cozy room. This experience, though rough and incovenient at most times, has been quite educational. Here are a few things I have learned in the my two weeks of being laptop free:

This experience, though rough and incovenient at most times, has been quite educational. Here are a few things I have learned in the my two weeks of being laptop free:
- DON'T install 2 different anti-viruses at once
- USF has a life-savingly great computer lab
- External hard drives are handy
- ITS can fix computers in 2-3 days for FREE!
- It's sometimes nice to handwrite a paper before you type it up (well...once in a while)
- Listening to a clock radio can actually be a fair substitute for Pandora
- There is life outside of Facebook (shocking!)
- Not being able to update your status every 5 minutes can be rather liberating
