I can tell it's almost springtime because Oxford is finally looking like its postcard self. The pale blue sky really brings out the gorgeous green in the trees and the dusty golden spires of Oxford. Before locking myself up in the library again, I decided to take a stroll by the river this morning. Luckily I brought my camera and was able to take a few pictures of the lovely scenery.
These first two pictures are of Christ Church, one of the largest colleges at Oxford and home to the famous Christ Church Cathedral. It has been a setting of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited, Lewis Caroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and has been a shooting location for Harry Potter.
The long path in the following picture leads to the breathtakingly beautiful stretch of the Isis (Thames) that flows in front of the college. This is the area where the university boathouses are located, so crews can often be spotted rowing in the early dawn. Adjacent to the river is Christ Church Meadow, land privately owned by the college.
