In case you didn't know, I'm taking this awesome class right now called Eating San Francisco. It's a special topics class for media studies that is all about exploring and reclaiming San Francisco through food and media. It's the perfect combination of my three favorite things: the city, good eats and digital media.
We are a class of 17 that meets every Wednesday from 6:15pm-9pm. In the upcoming weeks, we'll be going to five different neighborhoods in the city to see what each has to offer. We will visit the Mission, Haight, the Castro, Chinatown, and our first neighborhood: North Beach. We will be taking our first field trip there this upcoming Wednesday, the 18th.
We'll have a committee or crüe (as we like to call them) to research each neighborhood to find out which restaurants we should eat at and what sights we should see before we go on our field trip as a class. After researching a neighborhood, the crüe assigned to it will give a presentation so the class can collectively decide where we want to eat.I volunteered to be on the first crüe so I went to check out North Beach last week with my fellow crüe members, Joel and Kelli.
We had a great time peeking into restaurants and collecting take-out menus. After examining restaurant ambiences and considering prices, we finally made a decision about where we want our class to eat this upcoming Wednesday. The following video is the fruit of our labor.
