I learned an interesting thing in the bathroom this morning while I was brushing my teeth. My friend told me that Macy's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus are giving away free cosmetics due to a class action lawsuit filed against them. That's right. They're giving away free products from lines like Chanel, Clinique, Lancome, Estee Lauder and Christian Dior. Here's the link: http://www.cosmeticssettlement.com
Right after we were dismissed from RA training at 4pm, my friend Rita and I jumped on the first Muni downtown. We powerwalked to Nordstrom, only to find out that they ran out of free products already. Next we went to Bloomingdales. Out. We then walked a couple of blocks to Macy's. That's when we saw the humongous line that wrapped around the city block. It was ok. We had a plan. Rita stood in line for us outside of Macy's while I rushed around to see if any other stores were still offering free products. Neiman Marcus? No. Sak's? No.
Finally, I walked back to Macy's to find Rita. The line was pretty long, but at least it was moving. It took us about half an hour to get in and get our free product. We had a choice between two different kinds of moisturizers or one mascara. Rita and I didn't really care what we were getting. We just wanted the experience of going out and doing something fun and spontaneous. The first time we went through the line, we each got a tube of Lancome 3D sculpting mascara. We were so excited that we went right around the block and got back into line. The second time around only took about 20 minutes. This time we each picked up a jar of Clinique moisture surge cream. We're going back tomorrow!
