Shrunken Girl Scout Cookies
I remember when I was a little Brownie Scout selling boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in front of Albertson's. Back then, we sold them for $3 a box. Now, the going price is $3.50. The fifty cent increase doesn't sound too unreasonable considering it's been *ahem* ten years since I was a Brownie. However, the fifty cent increase in price also comes along with a reduction in size of the cookies. In recent years, I've actually noticed the cookies getting smaller and smaller every year. I thought it was just me getting older and bigger. However, a recent report by the
Dallas Morning News confirms that rising production costs have prompted the decision to pack smaller and fewer cookies into each box. It's getting harder and harder to get my cookie fix every year. However, it'll take more than shrinking cookies to stop me from getting my Tagalongs, Samoas, and Thin Mints.
