In defense of my vice:Lotto tickets
Ok. So buying a lotto ticket was on my to-do list once I turned 18 and now I buy them periodically. Actually, I only buy one or two a month, but I can't help but feel like it's a vice because it's a dollar wasted every time I don't win. My two biggest wins to date are $9 for a ticket I bought on my birthday last year and $12 I bought a few weeks ago. It's far from the multimillion dollar jackpot, but close enough. So, I'm going to defend my vice.
Buying lotto ticket's isn't a complete waste of money because for a dollar, you're not just buying a one-in-a-million chance to win the jackpot, you're buying the chance to dream. For one dollar, you can dream of mansions, cars, designer outfits or whatever you want. In my case, I dream of books, yarn and trips around the world. For one dollar, you can have it all-- or at least dream of it.
