And Then There Were None

I started reading Agatha Christie's famous murder mystery And Then There Were None last night, or I should say early morning, at around 2am. It is my first Agatha Christie novel and I have high hopes, considering her reputation. I got about 70 pages into it before I realized how late it was and that I had should stop reading and go to bed. But I couldn't. At least not right away.

I put the book down by my bedside bookshelf, turned out the light and tried to go to sleepy. Only I couldn't. My mind was still analyzing the beginning of the story and trying to guess what twists and turns the plot would continue to take. So I just laid awake. In bed. At 3 in the morning.

Needless to say, as soon as I woke up this morning, I grabbed my book and picked up where I left off. As I continued to read, I kept trying to guess who the killer was and why he/she was committing these murders. It was a race between my eyes actually reading the book to find out the identity of the killer, and my mind trying to guess it before I got to the end.

And Then There Were None truly is a page-turner from start to end. Even with my frantic theories and guessing from the start, I'll have to admit that I did not anticipate the ending. It was awesome. Bravo for Agatha Christie, and now I'm hungry to read more of her novels in the future!
